- The aim of this research was to determine the separete and combine effects of different doses of gamma rays and EMS concentrations on some characteritics of M2 plants of durum wheat, cv. Kunduru 1149. The seeds of durum wheat, cv. Kunduru 1149 which were irradiated with 50 Gy, 150 Gy and 250 Gy gamma rays and / or treatedEMS for 6 hours at 30°C in 0.2 % and 0.4 % concentrated. The seeds were not presoaked before, they were treated for 6 hours withEMS. The seeds were washed in flushing tap water for 4 hours, after treatment withEMS.

According to the results of this research; Emergence rate decreased 0.96-4.83 % in M2 plants of durum wheat, cv. Kunduru 1149. The chlorophyll mutations and mutation frequency and mutagenic efficiency value were increased after combined treatments when compared to other single gamma rays orEMS treatments. They were highest in the treatment 250 Gy + 0.2%EMS. Keywords : Mutagen; durum wheat;gamma rays; M2 plants
