MONITORING SEA WATER POLLUTION IN MUĞLA-GÜLLÜK BAY BY USING GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND REMOTE SENSING

The current situation of the bay and the impact of pollutants have not been known exactly. Consequently, the measurement and monitoring of pollutants have become a necessity. In this study, some physical and chemical analyses were conducted by using the water samples that were collected from 35 coordinated (fixed) points in Gulluk Bay. Coordinates were determined by Global Positioning System (GPS). The results were evaluated by Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) methods.
