1 Ege Üniversitesi, Ziraat Fakültesi, Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü, İzmir DOI : 10.21566/tarbitderg.282503 - This study was carried out at Bornova Experimental fields of Ege University Faculty of Agriculture during the years of 2012-2014. Three different harvest dates and various mixtures rates of annual legume forage crops (Vicia sativa, Vicia villosa, Lathyrus sativus, Trifolium resupinatum and Pisum arvense) with italian ryegrass (mixture of italian ryegrass + legume; 100+0%, 80+20%, 60+40%, 40+60%, 20+80% and 0+100%, respectively) were investigated in the field experiment. Average of 2 years results indicated that progressing harvest date increased plant height, hay yield and dry matter content of Italian ryegrass but crude protein content decreased. The highest hay yield (1308 kg/da) was obtained from pure Vicia villosa. For getting high hay yield in Ege region under second crop forage production, common vetch or hairy vetch should be selected and be cut on the second half period of April.
