Effects of Nitrogen on Silage Yield and Quality

This research was conducted West Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute in 2012 in Aksu
Agronomy Department. BATEM 7252 as the study material (in SI), BATEM 7255 (DAWN) and BATEM 5455
(Burak) silage corn varieties are used. Dekar silage yield, the silage quality criteria in samples taken from
the silage ADF (acid insoluble detergent fiber), ADL (acid detergent insoluble lignin) and NDF (neutral
insoluble detergent fiber), crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, pH, Flieger points, ash silage, it was examined
in the silage dry matter and soil characteristics. Burak control plots, SIDE, respectively, the average yield
varieties John DAWN kind 5281kg / ha, Side at 5193 kg / 5226 and the dawn sort kg/ha, respectively. 28
kg/ha of nitrogen application on the yield, respectively, 8348, 8114 and 8583kg/ it is determined. The highest
nitrogen application (35 kg / N) in yield reductions were seen. N. in silage quality value (nitrogen), depending
on the amount of ADF, ADL, NDF, pH, Flieger points and decreased ash content in the silage crude protein
silage formed increases the maximum point in parallel to increase the amount of nitrogen was observed to
affect the fat content of nitrogen. Of dry matter content in silage showed a decrease depending on the amount
of nitrogen. To increase the quality of silage made in the analysis above and the animals were found to
reduce the discarded items by facilitating the digestion.
