- In this research; effects of seeding rates on grain yields of Çakmak 79 and Kunduru 1149 durum wheat cultivars were examined in fallow-wheat rotation systems in Central Anatolia, and legumes-wheat rotation systems in Northern transitional zone during 1980-1987. Since Çakmak 79 showed different yield responses to the seeding rates it was evaluated separately for each region mentioned above. Estimated equations showed relations between grain yield and seeding rate were Y= 129 + 0.734 T-0.00074 T2 in Central Anatolia, Y= 55 + 0.83T-0.00096T2 in Northern transitional zone for Çakmak 79 and Y= 93 + 0.5 T- 0.00051 T2 in both regions for Kunduru 1149. Economical treshold figures of seeding rates were also calculated for two cultivars. The most economical seeding rate for Çakmak 79 (40 g TKW) was 425 seed/ m2 (170 kg/ha) in Central Anatolia, 375 seed/ m2 (150 kg/ha) in North transitional zone. Kunduru 1149, with 48 g TKW, had the most eeonomical yield at 375 seed/ m2 (180 kg/ha) in both regions. Keywords : Durum wheat; seeding rates; fallow-wheat and legumes-wheat rotation systems; yield
