PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS IN GRAIN LEGUMES AND THEIR ECOLOGIC SIGNIFICANCE
Phenolic compounds have deleterious nutritional effects on human and mono-gastric animals when incorporated into diets. Affords towards developing low or zero phenolic cultivars have long been under way. However, they regulate plant growth and development controlling Rhizobium nodulation, regulation of auxin transport and have defensive functions.
