1 Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bolümü. Ankara - The research was carried out in the experimental field of Field Crops Department, Facıılty of Agriculture, Ankara University in 1997-98. This study was conducted to determine correlations among some traits and direct and indirect effects of these traits on main stem yield in durum wheat. According to results obtained, signifıcant and positive correlations were found as: 0.578*, 0.793**, 0.646*, 0.824** between grain yield per spike, and plant heigth, ear length, number of fertile spikelet and kernels per spike respectively. As a result of path coefficient analysis it was found that plant length, number of fertile spikelet and kernels per spike were the most important characters for determining grain yield per spike in durum wheat. Keywords : Durum wheat; main stem yield; path coefficient analysis; yield components
