ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF SOME MONOCROPS AND DOUBLECROPS

1 Dr. Akdeniz Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü Antalya - Various crop production systems and cropping sequences are available in Antalya province. The objective of this study was to economically evaluate a number of these cropping syslems. This paper considers 5 majör monocrops (cotton, wheat. sesame, corn and groundnut) and 4 doublecrops (sesame, soybean, corn and groundnut).

It was found out that the 4 enterprises with highest gross margins per hectare (in descending order) were monocrop cotton (33480750 TRL), wheat-groundnut (26074940 TRL), monocrop groundnut (25674940 TRL) and wheat-corn (25365330 TRL). Also, the results indicate that average gross margins per hectare were lowest for the monocrops of wheat (9171230 TRL) and sesame (14037350 TRL). Keywords : Doublecrops; margins; yield
