- In this study, relations between dry hay yield and some of the characters have been determined by means of correlation and path analysis methods.

As a result of these analysis several characters have been found signifıcantly correlated with hay yield at the three grasses species tested, so that hay yield was related with dry matter (r=1.000 * *) and crude protein yield ( r= 0.989**) in crested wheatgrass; hay yield was related with number of tillers ( r= 0.924**), dry matter ( r= 0.881**) and crude protein yield ( r= 0.962**) in intermediate wheatgrass; finally hay yield was related with number of leaves ( r= 0.875**), number of tillers ( r= 0.923**), dry matter ( r= 1.000**) and crude protein yield ( r= 0.975**) in smooth brome grass. As a result of path analysis, determination coeffıcient (R2) was found out to be 1.000 for all three crops. Therefore, it ıs concluded that there is a very close relationship between dry hay yield and yield components. Keywords : Forage grasses, path analysis, hay yield, yield components
