INVESTIGATION OF QUALITY AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PROPERATIES OF SOME POTATO VARIETIES AFTER STORAGE

1 Atatürk Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü - In this study, under Erzurum ecological conditions, yield an some quality properties of 20 potato varieties after storage in 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 were investigated. Weight loss of the varieties used in the trial after storage was between 5.78% and 13.49%; specific gravity change was between -0.85'% and 0.82% , dry matter change was between -9.20% and 10.26%; starch change was between 14.40% and 15.68%; the ratio of woken up tubers was between 4.68% and 34.41%; the ratio of sprouted tubers was between I7.73% and 62.17%, the ratio of non-sprouted tubers was between 0.59% and 43.22% and the ratio of diseased tubers was 8.20% and 54.45% with regard to properties investigated of the varieties taken into trail; the varieties of Agria, Marinca, Marfona and Quinta gave the best results.
