THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT INOCULATION METHODS AND NITROGEN DOSES ON SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF LENTIL AND HUNGARIAN VETCH

1 Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü - This research was conducted in the Research and Applying Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ankara in growing period of 1996 and 1997. The main purpose of this research was to determine effects of different nitrogen doses and inoculation methods on first development stage of Lentil and Hungarian vetch.

Doses of 0, 2, 4 kg/ da nitrogen and methods of soil and seed inoculation were applied in lentil (Lens culinaris L.) and Hungarian vetch (Vicia pannonica Crantz). In this research which was established in a split plot design with three replications, the number of nodules per plant was found 2.92 as the lowest and 16.41 as the highest. In addition to this, the weight of nodule had changed between 0.0367 and 0.3033 g. The average height of plant was 28.7cm and 32.63 cm far lentil and 33.00-45.13 cm far Hungarian vetch. According to the results, it has found that bacterial inoculation has an positive effect above mentioned characters and the dose of 2 kg/da N has the increasing effect. It was observed that dry farming areas in which legumes haven't been grown for many years, bacterial inoculation has provided better plant development on the soil surface as well as under the soil Keywords : Effects Of Different Inoculation Methods; Nitrogen Doses; Lentil; Hungarian Vetch
