ADAPTATION OF SUMMER RAPE (Brassica napus ssp. oleifera L.) VARIETIES TO CONDITIONS OF ANKARA

ANKARA - This research was carried out in 1997-1998 at the experimental field of Field Crops' Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ankara. Eight summer rapeseed cultivars (Briol, Pactol, Westar, Spok, Gora, Jumbo, Lambada and Tiger) were used to study plant height, number of axillarry branche on main stem, number of pods on main stems, number of seed per pod, pod length, 1000 seed weight, seed yield and oil ratio. According to the results of average of 1997-1998; the highest plant height (125.5 cm) was determined in cv. Spok and the highest number of axillarry branches (7.99) on main stem, the highest number of pods (56.31) on main stem and the highest number of seed per pod were from cv. Pactol, cv. Jumbo, and cv. Lambada, respectively. The highest seed yield (247.43 kg/da) and oil ratio (41.50 %) were in cv. Tiger. Keywords : Summer rapeseed ; adaptation; seed yield;oil ratio
