Saime ÜNVER

1 A. Ü. Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü 06110 Dışkapı/ANKARA - This study, which was conducted during 1996 and 1997 was carried out with 17 triticale lines from CIMMYT and 1 triticale variety (Tatlıcak-97). The experimental design was Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The fertilizer rates of 12 kg/da diammonium phosphate in sowing, and 10 kg/da ammonium nitrate in spring were applied. Data were collected on control and breeding lines: plant height, tiller numbers per plant, spike length, seed number per spike, seed yield per spike, harvest index, seed yield per decare and 1000 kernel weight. According to two years results, these values have been determined; plant height was 130.20-123.69 cm, tiller numbers per plant was 2.77-3.95, spike length was 10.23-13.35 cm, seed number per spike 41.35- 55.13, seed yield per spike 1.71-2.34 g, harvest index 21.68 -31.51 %, seed yield per decare was 206.25-340.00 kg, and 1000 kernel weight was 43.76-53.90 g. Keywords : Triticale; breeding; seed yield; harvest index
