- Various management techniques in spring lentil-wheat rotation were compared as yield, emergence and some physical properties of soil in order to find a suitable method which provides less compaction of soil and high grain yields. After lentil harvest, lowest bulk density, highest total and aeration porosities and hydraulic conductivity of soil were obtained with the method of `fall plowing, sweep + harrowing in spring and seeding lentil with cereal drill`. The analysis of samples taken after tillage for wheat, showed that the method of `broadcasting lentil seed and plowing under and, following harvest of lentil offset disking for wheat seedbed preparation` produced highest yield and emergence of wheat and lowest bulk density, highest total and aeration porosities and hydraulic conductivity of soil.
