- This study was conducted in 1988-1990 at the Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute in Antalya under normal field conditions. The objective of this study was to compare drip irrigation and furrow irrigation of cotton in terms of yield and quality.

The results of the experiment showed that there were no significant differences between both irrigation methods in the yield and quality of cotton. Therefore, it was concluded that even though the drip irrigation system increased the percentage of the first hand picking and water use efficiency, the performance of the system did not justify the high economic outlay to grow cotton in Antalya.
