THE EFFECTS OF HERBICIDES APPLIED TO CUMIN (Cuminum cyminum L.) ON YIELD AND SOME YIELD COMPONENTS IN WHEAT
The aim of this research was to determine the effects of herbicides which were applied pre-emergence and post emergence to cumin for weed control on yield and some yield components of wheat succeeding cumin.
According to the results of this research;
Pre-emergence use of herbicides in cumin are more suitable. Post-emergence application of herbicides caused decrease in wheat yield.
Prometryn Trifluralin at correct doses which was applied as pre-emergence caused the increase in wheat yield.
If the post-emergence application is required, instead of wheat a spring crop or spring barley should be grown after cumin in order to avoid from deleterious effect of herbicides.
