1 Selçuk Üniversitesi, Ziraat Fakültesi, Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü, Konya DOI : 10.21566/tarbitderg.359439 - Dry bean has the highest production value over the world. In Turkey it ranged as the third and Konya province has the highest production. Field trials were conducted under Konya ecological conditions for two years (2010 and 2012). Six different sowing times and 7 dry bean genotypes (Akman-98, Doruk, Karacaşehir-90, Noyanbey-98, Sarikiz, Horoz and Sarniç) were planted according to Split Plots in Randomized Blocks Design by 3 replications. Both the difference in the sowing date and between the genotypes has effects on the yield characteristics, statistically. In the present research, late sowing caused a decrease in seed diameter, seed length and seed coat ratio. Dry bean seems well adapted and cultivable for almost all the regions of Turkey and should be evaluated for request of producers and consumers. The research results can be used by plant scientists in breeding programs and for human nutrition quality. It is expected to support the national economy, as well.
