The study was carried out determine the effect of different chickpea cultivars (Gökçe, Akçin, Işık, Yaşa)
and irrigation (S1: no irrigation, S2: irrigation at emergence, S3: emergence + flowering, S4: emergence +
flowering + pod formation) on phenological characteristics and yield of chickpea. Experiment was arranged
in split plot design with three replications. Differences among the irrigation time were determined to be
significant investigated traits except flowering time in first years. In first year, differences were observed for
cultivars to flowering time, pod information time, physiological maturation time, first pod height and yield. In
second year, differences were observed for cultivars to flowering time, pod information time, physiological
maturation time and pod per plant. In conclusion, irrigation delayed phenological growth and increased
plant height, first pod height, pod per plant and yield. Akçin gave higher response at two years.
